The 6th book in J.K. Rowling's series of the wondrous boy named Harry Potter who is set out for his 6th year at Hogwarts, a school for witches and wizards. He goes back with his friends Ronald Wesley and Hermione Granger. They get their classes now going into the N.E.W.T. level. They have no idea what classes their going to take until they get there. They learn that Professor Snape has taken over the post of Defense Against the Dark Arts post. When Harry is in Potions, he got a hand-me-down book that was said to belong to the Half Blood Prince. Harry wonders who the Half Blood Prince is. Suddenly Harry notices that the book has stuff scribbled in it. They are instructions for potion making. Harry gets really good at potions thanks to the Half Blood Prince. Everyone is jealous of him. Harry becomes suspious when Draco Malfoy keeps dissapering from the Mauraders Map. He thought that Malfoy was up to something. Meanwhile Dumbledore has scheduled Harry to take private "lessons". Harry learns more about Voldemort in this book. There have been more attacks at the school attempting to kill Katie Bell, Qudditch chaser for the Gryffindor team. Will Harry find out who was doing all these attacks? Who is the Half Blood Prince? Will they have to close Hogwarts for good? Will Harry have to face the evil Lord Voldemort and his Death Eaters? What is Malfoy up too? This book was really good because of all the unexpected twists. It held my attention the whole book. It makes you feel that you want it to keep going on. I did find one thing wrong about the book though. I saw some grammar errors and even a wrong name. In this book the romance heats up quite a bit since everyone is getting older. Out of all the books I'd say that this was my favorite out of the 6 because it wasn't super long but it was long enough. I like how J.K. Rowling does cliff hangers to keep people reading. I like how she sets everything up and how a lot of things from other books foreshadow onto all of the other books. It is certainly worth reading in my opinion because after you read it once, you want to read it over and over again. This book would be better for teens and adults because there are some scary parts, mainly at the end, but I think children who can read this level would love it. I give this book a full 5 stars! |
